CEO of MCI: Iran has about 103 million mobile subscribers

Mobile subscribers will be reached to 103 million persons in the country by 2014 based on international organizations' prediction.

PR of the ministry of ICT - Vahid Sadoughi in meeting for introducing the first operator to OTC by describing the details of the shares of the company said: "Accordingly, the phone penetration rate will be reached to 132 percent till the next four years".
He evaluated positive the growth outlook of mobile communications market and added: "Now, 62 percent of Iran mobile market is provided by the first operator, 37 percent by Irancell and the remaining by Talia and other operators according to ITU announcement".
Sadoughi explained about mobile communications networks and said: "providing value-added services and content is one of these areas that we are working with some European vendors to provide better services".
"The other areas for making the value chain are including: connecting infrastructure network, applications, payment bills and providing the users terminals", he continued.
He pointed that we would work with 27 local companies to provide the content and value-added and support them.
Sadoughi pointed to the growth process of mobile subscribers and said:" It has been started by about 7 thousand subscribers in 73 (solar year), and more than 8 million SIM in 84, 38 million SIM in 88 and now more than 41 million SIM have been given".
He said:" The most important successes of the first operator are including:100 percent coverage of cities (1104 cities), covering 93 percent of the population, 61 percent of villages, 99 percent of main roads, 72 percent of minor roads , 77 percent of rail routes and establishing international roaming by 264 operators in 110 countries".
Sadoughi said that the first operator had achieved the first position among 52 operators of the region both in terms of numbers of permanent and credit subscribers and continued "it has also achieved the 17th rank in terms of permanent subscribers and 26th in terms of total subscribers in the world and among the 780 operators ".
He about the strategic policies of MCI to elevate the business said:" some of the defined strategies in this area include: "innovation in the basket of products and services", "promoting the quality and technology of network", "promoting the business effectiveness and development" and "developing the field of the business".
CEO of MCI said that about 103 thousand of subscribers had registered for mobile payment service (JARING) in the fourth day of Telecom exhibition and said:" JARING is the first and only mobile payment system for operators and also safe in Iran with the aim of using 38 million of mobile phone as POS, while the whole country's banks have one million POS".

"Appointing the management consultant is another strategy to develop the 5 years business program and it has been predicted to have 19 percent increasing in the revenue every year", Sadoughi said.
He added that the first operator would participate in the third operator auction consortium in Syria in the field of business development.
"MCI has provided a golden opportunity to invest in Iran's capital market by dominant market share, strong financial backing and strong expertise and management team", he continued.
According to the report, Dr. Aram, CEO of Amin Financing Company explained about the admissions process of the first operator in OTC and said that OTC had been chosen for the first operator and continued: "Telecom shares has been offered in the stock market so we decided to offer the first operator's share, as telecommunication subset, in OTC in order to avoid any turbulence in the market".
He said that MCI profit was about 1000 billion Tomans last year and the first operator's profit would be about the same this year.
Aram continued:" 10 percent of the first operator's shares will be offered in OTC and emphasized only 5 percent of the company's shares will be offered in the next few days ".
