PR of the Ministry of ICT- Dr. Reza Taghipour in the opening ceremony of the twelfth International Exhibition of Telecommunication and Information Industry (Telecom), said:"National Information Network is considered as a goal of the fifth development plan that must be operated by the end ".
He said that the bandwidth expansion and services offering to the applicants were some benefits of this network and added :"we are going to operate different stages of the network immediately when is prepared".
Dr. Taghipour pointed to the relation between the national Information Network and the fourth operator and continued:" the fourth operator and optical fiber access network will be considered as an internal network and all operators as well as public telecommunication infrastructure company will be joined and formed a unit network".
He pointed :"we have no problem about the cost compensation and there is only technical coordination between TCI and TIC".
"The parliament Act allows to have a provincial tariffs not to increase the current tariffs, so when the distance increased the costs will be increased too but the phone costs will be reduced in some cases by this way", Dr. Taghipour emphasized.
Minister of ICT pointed to some ambiguity in telecom tariffs legislation and said:" According to the Article 58, paragraph 5 of Article 44,the competition council fixes the tariffs frame of the exclusive services and the regulatory determines the services and tariff classification".
He pointed to the number of websites which it's hosting has been moved from outside to inside and said:" now 97 percent of public websites are hosted in the country and it has been started from last year".
Dr. Taghipour about new Parliament proposal for Post bank said:" this has been provided by the parliament members but it's agreed with the Government and president opinion about the Post Bank".
"The President agreed to delay Post bank privatization last year till 1393 (solar year) because ICT rural offices development was not possible without a public Post bank", he continued.
Minister of ICT said that Telecom exhibition is an opportunity to introduce new technologies in ICT area to the people and added:" this exhibition holds every three years for domestic industries and value added services and offers new services to the visitors, so we believe that everybody will benefit from the domestic services, increasingly, by attending in the exhibition and with proper information ".
"This area changes constantly and leads to design new business and methods and we must support private sector for competition by considering the liberalization and privatization that occurred in this area", he added.
According to the report, Seyyed Hossein Hashemi, Chairman of Majlis Industries and Mines Commission also stated that the economic sanctions against Iran was a golden opportunity for the Ministry of ICT as well as the private companies to make local the telecommunication industries and continued:" Iranian engineers have ability to provide all telecom needs and neutralize the effects of sanctions by creating the proper work conditions".
He evaluated the Telecom 2011 exhibition in terms of local and foreign companies presence and continued:"development of telecommunication industry, as a new industry in our country, is a quality that cause to provide new age of technologies in this area".
Representative of Miyaneh in the Parliament said:" Telecom 2011 exhibition is better than last year and the domestic companies provided new services with a high ability".
Hashemi added that a positive feature of this exhibition is that the companies are looking to present their achievements instead of the advertising brochures.
